The Broadway and West End phenomenon, Kinky Boots The Musical, is strutting into Leeds Grand Theatre in a brand new production with a star cast including Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe, Dan Partridge (Grease), Courtney Bowman (Six), Scott Paige (The Addams Family) and Newtion Matthews* (Get Up Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical). This joy-filled musical, based on a true story and hit movie, features Tony and Grammy-winning music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a hilarious and life-affirming book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and is directed by Nikolai Foster (Grease and An Officer and a Gentleman).
After inheriting his family’s failing shoe factory and with a relationship on the rocks, life is proving very challenging for Charlie Price. That is until he meets Lola, a drag queen whose sparkle and unsteady heels might just hold the answer to saving the struggling business.
Guaranteed to raise you up and celebrate everybody’s individuality, don’t miss Kinky Boots.
*Please note that Newtion Matthews will be performing as Lola instead of Johannes Radebe in the matinees on Wed 21 and Thu 22 May.
