Collectively, Leeds Heritage Theatres’ three venues have been entertaining the people of Leeds for 400 years. Help safeguard our future, by donating to volunteering.
Why support Leeds Heritage Theatres?
For our past
Part of what makes us so special is our rich history and three heritage buildings; Leeds Grand Theatre, City Varieties Music Hall and Hyde Park Picture House. Our venues play an integral role in Leeds’ arts and cultural landscape.
Built in 1878, 1865 and 1914 (respectively) our buildings require much looking after and we are constantly striving to ensure we have enough funds to pay for the ongoing upkeep of these living, breathing, working monuments to our past and future.
For our present
We’re doing all that we can to ensure our survival throughout this period, as well as prepare for the economic uncertainty that will follow.
In such dark times, theatre is a positive force – it provides an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to come together to share a common bond – a love for live performance. We cannot let our theatres fade into the darkness.
For our future
The income we generate through ticket/subsidiary sales and donations is fed directly back into the company and the work we do to support young people in developing skills and confidence, be it through our schools partnership programme, Youth Theatre, or by undertaking an apprenticeship or work experience with us.
