An action-packed animated sci-fi anthology presenting five futuristic visions from Africa inspired by the continent’s diverse histories and cultures.

Executive produced by Oscar Award-winning director Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse), these visually arresting shorts made by a new generation of animation creators draw on uniquely African perspectives to imagine brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters. This is Africa as we love to see it.

• Enkai (Dir. Ng’endo Mukii, 12mins) A girl just wants to spend time with her mother, who is busy at work trying to save the Earth

Stardust (Dir. Ahmed Teilab, 13mins) An outcast stable girl demands an elite destiny scroll from the all-knowing Oracle

• Hatima (Dir. Terence Maluleke & Isaac Mogajane, 12mins) Two nations, one on land and one under the sea, are locked in an endless battle

First Totem Problems (Dir. Tshepo Moche, 12mins) Sheba is determined to get her digital totem, even if it means breaking into the afterlife

• Mukudzei (Dir. Tafadzwa Hove & Pious Nyenyewa, 12mins) After defacing a sacred monument, an influencer is flung into utopian future Zimbabwe
