Support Us

Collectively, Leeds Heritage Theatres’ three venues have been entertaining the people of Leeds for over 400 years. Help safeguard our future, by donating to volunteering.

Why support Leeds Heritage Theatres?

As a registered charity, Leeds Heritage Theatres exists for the public benefit. We believe passionately that the arts can, and do, change lives for the better.

We’re currently raising much needed money for our Theatre for All – Accessible Performances Fund. We would like to provide further Accessible shows across our venues, but we need your help. Your donation will help us reach new audiences who may otherwise never experience the shared connection of live performance.

For our past

Part of what makes us so special is our rich history and three heritage buildings; Leeds Grand Theatre, City Varieties Music Hall and Hyde Park Picture House. Our venues play an integral role in Leeds’ arts and cultural landscape.

Built in 1878, 1865 and 1914 (respectively) our buildings require much looking after and we are constantly striving to ensure we have enough funds to pay for the ongoing upkeep of these living, breathing, working monuments to our past and future.

For our present

Despite the continued struggles that the Arts and Culture sector faces, we firmly believe that theatre is a force for good. It has the power to change lives, improve well-being, and remind all of us of what connects us as humans. It provides an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to come together to share a common bond – a love for live performance.

We provide spaces and experiences for people to connect, work, learn, play and enjoy together. We continue to develop our artistic programme and activities to include a wide range of performing arts and film, forming lasting connections and partnerships across our region.

For our future

We want to ensure that we are here for generations to come, as we have been for generations past.

We have ambitious plans for our future, be that programming, education or sustainability. These plans can only be lived with the support of our audiences.
