Our Future
We have ambitious plans for Leeds Heritage Theatres. We want to ensure that we are here for generations to come, as we have been for generations past.
Our purpose
As a registered charity, our purpose is to bring people together through inspiring, engaging and educational experiences. It’s why we exist, and it’s what we love.
When we come together, we create something extraordinary; the feeling, the moment, the conversation. It’s a special blend of people, venue, energy. We all have a part to play in our future.

Our commitment
We have broken down our ambitious plans into three core areas. We are committed to delivering each and every one.
Educate
We will inspire and support people to reach their potential, through creative engagement.
We will increase the reach and engagement of our programmes.
We will create pathways to help everyone develop skills and employment opportunities.
We will embed a culture of learning; enabling everyone to be engaged, inspired and empowered to create something extraordinary.
Entertain
We will entertain, engage and develop our audiences, through a wide and varied programme.
We will attract and grow a loyal audience across all three venues by providing exceptional experiences.
We will identify gaps in our programme and audiences and seek out new work to reflect our city and its people.
We will invest in our systems and our people to provide a seamless and enjoyable customer journey.
Sustain
We will sustain Leeds Heritage Theatres buildings and people, and monitor our impact on the planet.
We will reduce our carbon footprint and inspire colleagues, suppliers and audiences to make a difference.
We will create an inclusive culture where everyone is supported to play their part.
We will increase resilience, proactively pursue development opportunities, take care of our venues and fundraise to support our purpose.

In order to fulfil our objectives, we need the ongoing support of our community. As a charity, any money you donate goes directly to supporting our commitments outlined above, and to support our work with young people.
We know that the arts and culture has the power to change lives. Our work with young people focuses on developing skills and confidence that they will use throughout their lives, not just in performance.
