Hyde Park Picture House
Cartoon baby orangutan behind a blurred sparkling spider's web.

Meet Ozi, a little orphan orangutan who’s about to make a big difference when she goes on an epic adventure to save her forest home.

Separated from her parents when their forest home is destroyed, Ozi is taken in by kind wildlife sanctuary owners who keep her safe and slowly teach her to communicate through sign language. With the combination of her new skills and natural talent for social media, Ozi soon has a worldwide following.

When she learns that her parents might be alive, Ozi sets off on a quest to find them and to tell the world what is happening to the rainforest before it’s too late. With help from new friends, cheeky monkey Chance and loveable rhino Honkus, Ozi discovers that one voice really can change the world.

Our Saturday screening will include a very special collaboration with our friends at the newly reopened Peace Museum at Salts Mill in Saltaire, including a special badge making workshop from 10.30am and a special introduction before the film highlighting some of the museum’s amazing collection and exhibitions.

The Peace Museum explores the often untold stories of peace, peacemakers, social reform and peace movements. It is unique in that it is the only accredited museum of its kind in the UK. Since 1994, we’ve been collecting items which tell the stories of peacemaking in many different forms. Our 16,000-object collection includes banners, placards, artwork and badges.

This workshop will link to one of The Peace Museum’s educational workshops Everything’s Connected – Caring for our World which explores environmental issues and the essential connections between all living things. Badges are a way to show people what you believe in and have played a big part in peace protests. The Peace Museum are bringing many examples of badges from our collection to help you get creative – some are funny, some are emotional and some are very silly. They’re also bringing their own badge-making kit, so everyone can make their very own badge and take it home!
