Colony

Presented by StudioCanal
£10.50
Hyde Park Picture House
A young woman walks through a corridor featuring clothing rails and mannequins. She is wearing a blood-stained overcoat.

The director of the incredibly popular Train to Busan, Yeon Sang-ho, returns with another fun, intense zombie horror.

Professor Se Jeong attends a bio-tech conference, only to witness it spiral into catastrophe when a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed. A disgruntled former bio-tech employee has released the virus that turns everyone it infects into contorting, snarling man-eaters. As the outbreak spreads and the infected begin to transform, authorities seal off the entire facility.

Referencing modern anxieties surrounding surveillance, the uncontrolled spread of information and the trauma of contagion (and, of course, lockdown), like Train to Busan (2016), Colony is stuffed with thrilling action sequences unfolding at a breakneck pace, saturated of course by torrents of the red stuff.
