Our KS2 workshops offer hands-on learning immersed in the history of our venues.
Key information
- Standard workshops at the theatre last 2.5hrs
- Cost £200 for up to 30 children
- Delivered by experienced drama facilitators and education professionals
- All workshops at the theatre include a tour of the venue
- Some workshops can be adapted for delivery in school
- Full risk assessments can be provided on request

KS2 workshops

Spotlights and Sound Effects: 2.5 hours, £200
KS2: Focus on practical application of principles covered in Science NC
- Experiment with light and colour to affect the mood of a performance and create soundscapes
- With our state-of-the-art lighting rig, pupils can investigate the effects of shadow puppetry
- Our tour explores the evolution of light and sound in the theatre from past to present
- Depending on NC objectives, we can focus on light (Years 3 and 6) or sound (Year 4)

World of Work (Primary Edition): 2.5 hours, £200
KS2: Link to PSHE and introducing Years 5 and 6 to careers
- Learn about key roles in a working theatre and explore how our venues operate as modern businesses
- Students will undertake job-specific tasks from programming to marketing to design a chosen show
- We can include either a drama skills element or production portfolio activity
- A careers-focused tour is included for workshops delivered at the theatre

Ancient Greeks vs Victorians: 2.5 hours, £200
KS2: Focus on an extended chronological study and History NC objectives
- Explore the key similarities and differences between these two historical eras in theatre
- Dive into the traditional performance techniques of Ancient Greece through drama activities
- Our theatre tour focuses on the continued influence of Ancient Greek culture over our Victorian venues
- Ideal for KS2 pupils developing an understanding of chronology and trends over time

Victorian Music Hall: 2.5 hours, £200
KS2: Focus on local history study and English NC objectives
- Bring the rich Victorian heritage of Leeds to life through our combined tour and workshop
- Perfect for KS2 pupils learning about their locality’s history and using sources to understand the past
- Learn about costumes, characters and performers through roleplay, storytelling and object handling
- A Victorians-focused drama activity is included in our workshop

Wellbeing Workshops: 2.5 hours, £200
Use drama skills and techniques to keep your pupils’ minds and bodies healthy
- Confidence building and teamwork will be explored through drama skills and games
- We can tailor workshop content to meet the specific needs of the pupils in your school
- We can focus on your school values and ethos and incorporate this into the session
- A tour of one of our venues is included for workshops delivered at the theatre
