If would you like to join our Access Membership Scheme, have questions about accessing Leeds Grand Theatre, or would like to arrange a visit, please contact us on our dedicated access number 0113 205 3899. You can also view our seating plan here or more information can also be found on our Access page.
Steps and seating
There is lift access to most of the auditorium from the foyer (excluding Upper Balcony), and a wheelchair access lift to the foyer from Box Office (42″ wide x 66″ deep).
Some areas of the auditorium have steep stairs and may not be suitable for people with limited mobility (including Balcony and Upper Balcony). Please check with Box Office before purchasing a ticket if you have concerns.
Wheelchair spaces and toilets
If you are an Access member you can book wheelchair spaces online by logging into your account, or you can call our Box Office on 0113 243 0808. Please inform Box Office if you would prefer to transfer from a wheelchair into a seat as space to store wheelchairs is limited.
Accessible toilets are located at Stalls and Dress Circle level.
Deaf and hard of hearing patrons
An infra-red system is in operation in the auditorium for deaf and hard of hearing patrons.
Headsets are available from the kiosk in the main foyer for a £5 refundable deposit. Please contact Box Office for information on the best seats for this facility.
Food and drink
Bars
Our bars open one hour before the performance, serving a good selection of bottled beer, spirits, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee, and snacks.
We also offer an in-seat refreshment service, whereby you can order food and drink via Preoday and your refreshments will be brought to you before the show or during the interval. Online orders will close when the show begins – you will then need to use the bars.
And whilst we don’t serve hot food, there are plenty of great restaurants nearby to enjoy pre- or post-show food. And don’t forget, Gold Members get to enjoy discounts at several of these (read more).
Bar 1878
Step away from the bustling crowds by reserving a space in Bar 1878, a relaxed environment in which to meet both pre-show and at the interval. For only £20 per person, enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival and indulge in a Northern Bloc ice cream during the interval. Additionally, take advantage of a secure space to store your coats. To book, add to your basket during the booking process or call Box Office.
Please note: Spaces can be booked for 1-12 people. Please email our House Management team if you would like to book for a larger group and have exclusive use of the room. Drink on arrival includes a glass of house wine or Prosecco, beer, soft or hot drink. There is an accessible ramp to the room (door width is 73.5cm).
Matinee Meetups
Aged 60+ and want to meet like-minded people at the theatre? Then our Matinee Meetups are for you.
Available on selected events at The Grand*, our Wilson Barrett bar (Stalls level) will be open from 1.30pm for you and other patrons aged 60+ to meet before the show, grab a hot drink or glass of fizz**, and connect through your love of theatre. To attend, book a ticket for the matinee performance and show up!***
*Look for ‘Matinee Meetups’ listed on the events page when booking
**Attendees can enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival and unlimited hot drinks
***Subject to availability on a first-come-first-served basis
