03/11/21 Stars turn out for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Press Night

Last night everybody really was talking about Jamie as stars of stage and screen joined 100s of excited audience members for the opening night of the hit West End musical – and film – as it began it’s week-long run at The Grand.

Kay Mellor, Ellie and Izzi Warner (Gogglebox), Helena Garcia and Kim-Joy (Bake Off), Siobhan Murphy (Interior Design Masters) and Emmerdale cast members posed for pictures with Jamie and Margaret Campbell – the inspirational figures behind the story.

Featuring West End star Layton Williams, Eastenders’ much-loved Shane Richie as Hugo/Loco Chanelle and TV favourite Shobna Gulati as Ray, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has an original score of catchy pop tunes by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells, and writer Tom MacRae (Doctor Who).

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. Jamie is going to be a sensation.

Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.
