Join Our Team - Head of Development

Purpose of Job

This is a new but very important role for Leeds Heritage Theatres, and one which will primarily be responsible for the planning and implementation of comprehensive development strategies that align with our mission and vision.

The postholder will have a robust understanding of the cultural landscape, particularly in fundraising, stakeholder engagement and partnership cultivation, whilst being adept at identifying and securing diverse funding sources, including grants, sponsorships and donations. With an emphasis on fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement, the Head of Development will work closely with artistic colleagues, the Board and community stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and innovation, to ensure robust support of our artistic programmes and heritage buildings, and achievement of our financial goals.

About You

You will thrive in a dynamic setting, have a knack for storytelling and genuinely care about elevating the arts. You will enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders and have a proven track record in fundraising and donor relations as well as a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector so as to ensure financial sustainability of our vital creative programmes within our heritage buildings.

Salary and Benefits

Contract Type: Permanent

Responsible to: Head of Learning and Development

Salary: £42,000 – £45,000, dependent on experience

Holiday entitlement: 25 days (plus bank holidays), increasing after five-years service

Probation Period: Six months

Notice Period: Two months, on completion of probationary period

Hours: 37 per week usually worked over five days including some evening and weekend working but flexible hours will also be considered. Hybrid working available with two days in the office as a minimum
