Rob Salmon: Director
Rob is a Theatre Director and Arts Educator who specialises in artist/talent development and is the Head of Creative Engagement at the world-famous Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough.
He has more than 20 years of experience as a director and facilitator where he has led over 150 productions, ranging from five-star work on the fringe to sell-out actor-musician productions in venues across the UK. He has devised and delivered numerous education, youth, and community theatre projects for organisations including New Vic Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse (Leeds Playhouse), Salisbury Playhouse, Dukes Theatre Lancaster, and the New Wolsey Theatre, where he was the Associate Director (2008-20) and the Festival Director of Pulse Festival/Pulse Presents (2013-20). Rob is the founder and Artistic Director of the multi-award recognised theatre company People You May Know.
Jack and the Beanstalk is Rob’s 15th Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto written by Peter Rowe, having directed Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and last year’s Robin Hood at The Varieties.
