Neil Brand shines a light on the monumental figures of silent comedy including Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and of course Laurel & Hardy. In this interactive performance you’ll get to watch some of the best in silent film, with a live music score and commentary that brings a silent world musically to life.
Neil is an acclaimed composer, writer and broadcaster known for his live piano accompaniments and explorations of silent cinema where he introduces classic slapstick and comedy shorts, performing his own custom-composed live piano scores beneath the big screen.
Neil is the ultimate guide to the magic of early cinema, blending world-class musicianship with infectious storytelling. As an acclaimed composer, BBC broadcaster, and one of the world’s premier silent film pianists, he doesn’t just play along to classic movies – he breathes new life into them. Watching Brand live or tuning into his documentaries is a masterclass in how music shapes emotion, delivering an unforgettable, laugh-out-loud experience that makes hundred-year-old comedies feel as fresh, urgent and brilliant as the day they were made.
