Fraser Smith Quartet featuring Harry Allen

Presented by Lejazzetal Records

City Varieties Music Hall
Composite image of two portrait shots. On the left, Fraser Smith sits relaxed in a cafe, with a saxophone laid on the table in front of him. On the right, Harry Allen wears a suit and polka dot tie. He holds up a saxophone and looks off to the side.

Fraser Smith is a hard-swinging tenor man with a sound reminiscent of the golden ages of jazz from ’40s Kansas City through ’60s New York.

‘A tenor it isn’t tough to like’ (Times), Birmingham-born Smith is carving out an enviable reputation playing saxophone in the style he’s completely obsessed with. With an almost constant concert schedule and two recordings under his belt, he’s already confirmed himself as one of the most compelling tenor saxophonists currently working in British jazz.

New York-based Harry Allen, featured on this tour, is a worldwide legend on the scene… a jazz institution who’s been headlining festivals globally for as long as anyone can remember. He’s a Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee with over 70 albums.

‘On stage, the musicianship is off the scale…’
