After our smash sell-out premier at The Belgrave and second sell-out show in Halifax in December, we are excited to announce our next homecoming show will be at the iconic City Varieties Music Hall right in the heart of the city. Where better to bring our new show to celebrate the history of Leeds as a dance music capital of the world from when it began to the present day!
This outstanding live show sees a full 10-piece band taking you on a 90s vocal-house journey, powering through some of the greatest club classics and floor-fillers ever recorded and supported by a very special guest DJ in the shape of Leeds’ adopted son, Mr Brandon Block, to take the energy even higher.
A Friday night show has a powerful resonance and connection to Let There be House as the legendary Up Your Ronson club night dominated Friday nights in Leeds through the early 90s. The same creative genius behind Ronson is the creative director for this special live experience Mr Tony Hannan, alongside Leeds legendary bass player Hamlet Luton. A dance pedigree like that only underlines why The Varieties’ gig is not to be missed.
So come on! Get your glad rags on and enjoy a powerhouse of a show with a band that will take you to heaven over and over again and amazing singers at the top of their game, smashing out tunes that are a soundtrack to the 90s and Leeds from a special time, all wrapped up in the city’s most special venue. Perfect!
