Presented by British Film Institute
Hyde Park Picture House
Black and white film still. A man kneels down in an overgrown graveyard, closely examining something in his hands. He wears a flat cap, satchel, tweed suit and fingerless gloves.

Part of Wintertime. Discover our season here.

Join us for this festive ghostly treat!

This special event comprises screenings of two of the classic BBC/BFI Ghost Stories for Christmas films Whistle and I’ll Come to You (1968) and A Warning to the Curious (1972), followed by a panel discussion hosted by Adam Z. Robinson (writer and performer, The Book of Darkness & Light) and including Mike Muncer (The Evolution of Horror podcast) and Brontë Schiltz (writer, academic and TV ghost expert).

The post-screening discussion will explore the enduring appeal of Christmas ghost stories, their place in folklore, and the centenary legacy of M.R. James’s haunting collection A Warning to the Curious (1925) as well as taking questions from you, our audience.

Don’t miss this spooky treat this Christmas!
